About

One diary for the very best of the UK's classical arts.

Bravura brings together, in a single user-friendly diary, the upcoming performances of the UK's leading professional classical ensembles — symphony orchestras, opera companies, professional choirs, established string quartets and chamber groups, and the major ballet and dance companies.

Create your own concert lists, add performances straight to your calendar, and click through to book directly with the box office. It is free, and it always will be for audiences.

Why we built it

Finding the right concert for yourself in this country is, to us, a bit harder than it should be. Each orchestra, opera house and dance company runs its own website, its own season structure and its own booking system. If you want to know what is on in Manchester next Thursday, or where you can hear Mahler's Second this autumn, or which company is touring near you, you have to already know who to look for.

We thought a different approach would be better - a plainly written, combined concert diary - so we built it. Bravura answers the questions actual audience members ask — what, where, when, how much, and is it any good — and then gets out of the way and sends you to the box office.

Who runs Bravura

Bravura is an independent UK project run by a former classically trained musician and lifelong concertgoer.  We are not owned by, funded by or affiliated with any venue, orchestra, opera company, promoter or ticketing agency. We do not (ourselves) sell tickets to any of the listed performances.

How the diary is compiled

Every listing is based on the key facts of each concert published on the public website of the organisation presenting the performance.

In the process or review, we remove duplicates, drop anything already in the past, and filter out overseas dates so the calendar stays focused on the UK. Some entries have less information than others - for example, no runtime or no starting price - and that's because those details have not been published online.  The full process is set out in our editorial policy.

Our editorial approach

Alongside the listings we publish original editorial: a short note on why each performance is worth your evening, background on the works in the programme, notes on the performers, and practical detail about the venue and the evening itself. We also write longer guides — first-timer explainers, city-by-city rundowns, composer introductions and profiles of the major halls and concert venues — each one linked back to what you can actually book right now.

Something wrong? Tell us

Live performance moves fast, and we would much rather hear about a mistake than leave it up. If a date has changed, a price is out of whack, a programme has been revised, your ensemble is missing, or you would simply like something removed, send us a message and we will deal with it. Corrections are made as soon as we can verify them.
